Audience participation drives 2015 Adelaide Film Festival.
In the lead up to the 2015 Adelaide Film Festival, we wanted to get people talking about film. And in doing so, raise awareness of the event, drive public engagement and generate ticket sales.
Audience participation was key to creating a social campaign that would build awareness and, significantly, grow an online audience prior to festival launch.
To achieve this we put the spotlight back on the public with The Film You Wrote, a never-before-seen experiment in filmmaking.
Driven by a social media and ambient campaign, people were invited to select which twists and turns the film would take next in a “choose your own adventure” style interactive experience.
The campaign received a lot of publicity, and The Film You Wrote helped increase Facebook ‘Likes’ by 40%, with an actual growth of over 2000 fans.
During the Festival, our campaign hashtag became the 6th highest trending topic on Twitter, proving that Adelaide was talking about film.
